Archives

Relationship to District:

  • Attend monthly District business meetings and provides a written report.
  • Is a voting member.
  • Maintains a file system for the District, each Group and meeting.
  • Encourages each group to research and write a group history.
  • Maintain and update group histories as they change.
  • Gather and maintain historic District documents that exist.
  • Encourage overall education within the district to assist members in learning about the history of AA to further enhance their sobriety and the sobriety of those in the District.
  • Be willing to learn about and practice archival practices with regards to preservation and maintenance of historical documents.

Relationship to Area:

  • Attend area committee meetings and assemblies and sit on the Archives committee for the area.

Service Requirements & Experience:

  • Familiarity with the 12 Steps, 12 Traditions and 12 Concepts
  • Must be proficient with computers
  • Two years Sobriety or more
  • Have a Service Sponsor
  • Have previous service experience

Term:

  • 2 Years, expires on Dec. 31 of each odd year
